Congratulations to the Mt Vernon School District for getting a $50,000 grant to focus on a local drug intervention program.
Water meter replacement project is on track to begin this fall. This will involve transitioning to “radio read” meters which will eliminate City Staff having to manually read each meter. Completion is set for the end of the calendar year.
Prairie preparation is beginning on the north slope of main street by the gazebo and walking trail. This is a several year process, so watch it grow.
Streetscape project for the downtown area is still being worked on as are efforts to work on childcare solutions for our community.
