Mount Vernon City Pool

The clean, welcoming atmosphere, slides and fountains, and high number of lifeguards make the Mount Vernon City Pool a popular draw for the community. It’s open seven days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.

Pool Programs

Registration for pool programs including: swimming lessons, swim team and junior lifeguard class can take place online or in person at the pool manager’s office or at the Lester Buresh Center prior to opening for the season beginning the first Monday in April. Private swim lessons are available and arranged by the pool manager. Private lessons requests can be submitted online. You will be contacted to schedule lesson days and times once an instructor has been assigned.

Pool Rental

The pool is available for private use for birthday parties, family reunions, team building and other gatherings. Pool rentals are available on most Saturdays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Cost is $250 for 2 hours (1st 50 people covered in the price of the rental). Each additional person will be an extra $3. Rental requests can be submitted online or in person beginning the second Monday in May. Requests must be submitted two weeks prior to the event and approval is required for rental confirmation. For special requests, contact the pool manager.

Pool Passes

Pool passes and punch cards for open swim and water aerobics are available for purchase beginning the second Monday in May. Passes can be purchased online, in person at the pool managers office, or at the Lester Buresh Center prior to opening for the season.

Scholarships are available for most programs and pool passes. Fill out the Scholarship Form and submit to Nicole at SE Linn Community Center, 108 S Washington St, Lisbon.

Mount Vernon City Parks

In addition to the Palisades-Kepler State Park, the City of Mount Vernon is home to many local parks, each with its own features and recreational focus. Pavilions and gazebos at local parks are available to rent at no charge on a first-come-first-served basis. Alcohol is not permitted in our parks, and guests must clean up after their event.

Nancy Doreen Huffman Dog Park – Inside Nature Park, 3rd Street SE

Amenities: One-acre Fenced Space, Drinking Fountain, Free Dog Waste Bags

Rules: Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations, friendly and well-behaved. Owners must clean up after their dog and ensure good behavior.

Disc Golf Courses

Mount Vernon is home to Quarry Ridge DGC, a 9-course disc golf course located at Nature Park.

The Lester
Buresh Center

Get moving at the Lester Buresh Family Community Wellness Center — also known as the LBC. This 33,000 square foot facility offers more than a space to work out. Join group exercise classes and team activities, host a private party, or connect with your neighbors during special community days. 1-month, 3-month and 12-month memberships are available, as well as drop-in day passes.
