Share your thoughts on Accessory Dwelling Units, Tiny Houses & Shipping Container Homes
The City of Mount Vernon is seeking public input on a number of topics related to affordable housing.
Following a recommendation from the Housing Commission, Mount Vernon’s City Council has directed the Planning and Zoning Commission to investigate and recommend an Accessory Dwelling Unit ordinance, with regulations designed to assure the compatibility of these units with existing neighborhood characteristics. Due to recent inquiries, public input is also being sought on the topic of tiny houses and the conversion of shipping containers for residential purposes.
