The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) is an umbrella organization that encompasses the roles of a traditional Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development and Marketing and Tourism activities and projects. In addition, the CDG is involved in the Mount Vernon Main Street Iowa program, developed by the Iowa Department of Economic Development.

The CDG is proud to present the following annual events: Heritage Days, Chili Cookoff, Magical Mount Vernon, as well as summer and winter retail events.
