The Story of City Kitty

Picture it: Halloween 2007. A cold, rainy day. A black cat sat alone on a bench outside of City Hall seeking shelter from the storm. The legend of City Kitty was born.

City was a rolling stone in his younger days, visiting local schools to see children, frequenting dorm rooms to chill with students, and exploring all over town. Ultimately, he found his home at City Hall.

We were so excited to start our new website with City. Unfortunately, we had to make the decision due to illness to let City go. City Kitty was 18 years old and loved to greet people, entertain children, and attend meetings. Equal parts diplomat, ambassador, and confidant, he provided stress relief for everyone who walked into or works at City Hall. He enjoyed his numerous soft cat beds, daily brushings, and treats. His pace got slower and as of December 19, 2023, we had to say goodbye to our rare, sweet boy. Share your stories of our beloved City Kitty next time you’re in the building. We will miss him dearly. He had a great life and touched many. Thank you everyone for the kind words of our recent loss.
